Brooklyn-Long Beach rock trio, We Barbarians stopped by in Toronto for their fall tour after releasing their sophomore EP,"Headspace" on September 3rd at Drake Hotel Underground.
"This is Toronto on the Labour day's long weekend, right?"- As exclaimed by the Drummer, Nathan Warkentin, the venue was so quiet that I hesitated to go up front. However, despite the emptiness, the trio brought their best effort to rock it out. As withdrawn by their enthusiasm, I at least came very close to the stage and danced with their catchy melodic tunes.
The band delivered a great mix of the good oldies from the first album, "There is this and there is that" and the new tracks fro the EP" Headspace". My little disappointment was not being able to hear the cover song of David Bryne and Brian Eno's Strange Overtones" live.
